The Genetic Counselling is a process that helps people to understand and adapt themselves to the medical, psychological and familiar consequences of a determined genetic condition. This process includes:
- To interpret the familiar background, and doctors to evaluate the risk of occurrence or recurrence of a determined disease.
- To educate about heredity, the available genetic tests, prevention, clinic follow-up, resources and investigation.
- To offer advice to promote informed decisions and adaptation to risk or condition.
